Leaders often know that there is a problem, but can’t put their finger on it.  Or worse, they cleave to ideas that are not supported by the facts.  We use a bespoke Discovery Tool in combination with benchmarking and organisation structure analysis to pinpoint misalignments between strategy, structure, culture and value chain performance.  This reveals  hitherto unseen problems and indicates how changes to organisation design could lead to reduced costs and improved management.

A target operating model must be detailed for it to function properly.  We use an industry-leading analytical platform to map how the organisation currently works.  We examine every role in the organisation to understand what people do, how they work, and how authority and autonomy are exercised.  Our powerful visualisation techniques allow clients to see their organisations in high definition.  We combine this with demand and capacity modelling to produce a range of detailed design options that reflect different operational and environmental scenarios.  Each option shows the reporting lines, organisational size, responsibilities of each role, managerial accountabilities and financial impact.

Even organisations with established change teams and mature HR services often find that they need some extra horsepower to enable the transition to a target operating model.  We work alongside our clients’ teams and senior executives to help them implement their new organisation design.  We provide support for project management and reporting, implement governance and performance management systems, develop job descriptions, define departmental functional briefs and confirm arrangements for inter-departmental collaboration.  We also track benefits realisation to demonstrate the impact on the bottom line.
